Random Messed Up Thoughts.

I'd want to be chosen for National Service if I don't make it for AFS.
What doesn't kill makes you stronger. :)

I'm hungry for some exciting adventure.

Conventional beauty standards be damned!

I'm so dead for blogging when there's a pile of stuff left to be done.

I should stop distracting myself from my priorities.

I should be a happier person. I am a happier person.

I'll never regret for telling the truth.

Friends are kisses blown to us by angels.

I aspire to be a...

National Geographic Photographer.

Two teaspoons of inspiration.

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, People may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, They may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway."

Realization.

I'm beginning to realize that I'm not being fair to myself. You know what? The irony is, I had to attend a 3-day workshop to realize that.

I realize that I wasn't there for myself. I wasn't there to fend for myself when people threw negative remarks at me. I wasn't there for myself when I knew those things were going to put me down later on in life. I've never been there from the start.

I've realized that it's not okay for anyone to talk sarcastically to me. I've realized it's not okay to allow people to joke about me.

I didn't know how these petty things affected my self-esteem so bad that it made me feel like shit.

Every single time people sneer at me I bow down and back off.

I allowed my past to define who I am today.

Sorry, I'm not that old Chien Huey anymore. I will not allow myself to go through those things again. I swear.

Half my holidays are gone.

So I'd skip all the boring stuff and tell you about the interesting ones. We had a successful carnival day two Saturdays ago, an extrememly busy one! [Right now I'm just going to blab about random stuff that runs through my head]

All I can say is: "Boo Pn. Yeong, Go 5S1!"

I'd have loved to blog more about it, but yeah, no pictures and mostly negative stuff in the beginning. But what an achievement we've made!

Note: PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN WAS BORING (kk stop throwing rotten eggs at me!)
Maybe because I was extremely tired that day that I couldn't enjoy the movie. :( OHOH the mermaids were the best part though! Since there were no hunks to look at.

Then Wednesday came by and I had to pack my bags and set off for Alor Star forrr... *drum rolls*

It stands for Bright Roving Annoying TeenagerS, a young journalist program sponsored by The Star Malaysia.

Haha it sounds so funny typing The Star Malaysia because I can practically hear myself saying that in my head after my name in that hilarious video!

To be honest, I didn't really know that we were going to learn about journalism. I thought that we would be split into groups depending on our talents and what we applied for. But noooo. We get to learn interview skills, writing skills, photography and videography all in the first two days of the workshop.

Haha well, it's good I guess. I get to learn how to write too!

Oh btw, BRATs totally changed my perspective on social networking! Haha. And inspired me to continue blogging. That's why this is the second post of the day!

I get to meet all the awesome people like Niki Cheong, the sarcastic yet funny editor of R.AGE, Ian Yee (who have been hugged by Lady Gaga), a columnist in R.AGE who mostly talks about football, Melody, a journalist who had interviewed the likes of Leornado DiCaprio and Johnny Depp and Jason Lioh the famous blogger and a very good photographer indeed!

Sorry, I still can't get over the hype that they've met all the famous celebrities.

We split into three teams, the WHATs which is short for Weird Hyper-Active Teens, Team X and How I Met Your BRAT.

Haha. Creative right? Wait till you see the video of their performances on the last night of the workshop.

Kay, on more personal stuff now. Haha. I have a confession to make. I've never left home without my family or friends with me before. EVER. This is like my first time going to a foreign place without knowing anyone and surviving four days there.

Haha. My roommate was awesome! Haha I'll always remember her as the first roommate of my life! Shoot I'm getting a bit sampat liao. Her name is Shu Wen and she's from PJ. And she's a prefect! (Reminds me a lot of my mom) Hey that's a compliment k! :P

The err not to say hard lar, embarrassing, is the correct word. The embarrassing part about sharing a room with somebody is.. [Well, I don't think I should get any further with this, haha.]

YEAH AND THE HOTEL WAS FREAKIN' COLD. All of us had to wear jackets when it comes to night time.

THE WHATs

We went to Mahathir's house on the second day and to a paddy field on the third day. To be perfectly honest, I think that Mahathir's house was a tiny bit boring. Haha. The usual stuff about how great Mahathir was as he was a doctor cum politician. And how he managed to study even though the first ice factory in Kedah beside his house was making a lot of noise.

The paddy field was awesome lah kay. The view was great! Although I was sweating like nobody's business. But it was worthwhile! Haha.

Group shot! :D

Can you find me?

Jason Lioh took this! See see see his blog address! And go read his blog! So sad to hear that he plans to shut it down. :(

So yeah, might as well post all the pictures I took over there. :P

The theme was "green".

They were giving us lessons on how to take a good photo and this was trial lar. :P The theme was "green". We had to take pictures of something green to be submitted and criticized by the facilitators in front of everyone. LOL. Kla it wasn't that chi gek lar.

The paddy field.

I wonder how it turns out to be next month?
Cuz it's harvesting season, if I'm not mistaken! :D

There were lots and lots of dragonflies flying around.

I wanted to capture one flying with the blue sky and the green field as the background but that would be very, very, immensely difficult for me to do it. :(

Err, another view of the field!

The farmer's wife and her kids.

Sorry I'm a horrible journalist. I've forgotten all their names LOL.

MY FAV PICTURE!

She was showing me the fishes they've just bought from the market and her smile is sooo natural!
My favourite picture among the rest!

He was "membaja"-ing sawah padi. Demo version.

Aww cracked soil. Look at the shell of a snail! There were actually quite a lot of them on the ground.

See see snail shell.

New technology. Compared to using buffalos.

The house on the left, the orange one is the farmer's house.

Taaddaa! To prove that we stayed up late eating junk food. XD

I actually had one with packets and wrappings of junk food sprawling on the table but lazy to find liao lah.

Spent the whole afternoon blogging d.

Haha oh well, dinner, now!

Oh wait, dinner has to wait. I haven't said anything about AFS interview yet! Yes, I went to apply for AFS. It was nerve-wrecking and a little bit scary but I might say, it went okay. I really hope I get it! OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE. *fingers crossed*

OWC bullshit.

Okay, the title may seem a bit harsh but yeah, that's how I feel. I don't intend to offend anyone. I'm just purely expressing my views on it.. (this gets a bit personal)

This post is based on this link.

Firstly, I don't think that it's the wife's fault if the husband strays. You mean to tell me that if the husband finds a prostitute and cheats on his wife, it's the wife's fault for not satisfying her husband? So it's okay for the husband to have an affair so long as he says that he is not satisfied with his sex life at home? And women exist just to satisfy men's desires? #bullshit

"Whatever he says, I must follow. It is a sin if I don't obey and make him happy." So if he ask me to eat poo to make him happy I must eat too? #bullshit

And why did they set up a polygamy club? One wife not enough? (I could go further but I'll just stop right here.) If no, why can't they do it the other way around? A wife marrying a few husbands to satisfy her sexual needs.

If you tell me you're not a sexist, I see no reason why it cannot be done the other way around. Since it's okay for men to have a few wives.

"Sex is a taboo in Asian society. We have ignored it in our marriages but it's all down to sex. A good wife is a good sex worker to her husband. What is wrong with being a whore ... to your husband?" she said.

Definition of the word whore from The Old English Dictionary:

— n
1.a prostitute or promiscuous woman: often a term of abuse
— vb
2.to be or act as a prostitute
3.(of a man) to have promiscuous sexual relations, esp withprostitutes
4.often foll by  after to seek that which is immoral, idolatrous,etc

So wives shouldn't be treated like proper respected women but they should be treated like prostitutes and sex slaves instead?

Note the "often a term of abuse" part. No wonder there's so much domestic violence going on.

Okay, if women at home have to be prostitutes for their husbands (this is getting really ridiculous) the husbands have to pay them money. So it becomes a mutual thing. You get sex from me, I get money from you. No feelings involved. No love, nothing about being a proper family. Just SEX.

Then what is marriage all about?

She said wives must go beyond the traditional roles as good cooks or good mothers and learn to "obey, serve and entertain" their husbands to prevent them from straying or misbehaving.

Side note: Kate Middleton removed the word "obey" from her wedding vows.

Kay, I don't know how to cook, clean, do household chores and raise children nevermind. I just have to know how to "obey, serve and entertain" my husband.

Entertain? In what way? Just say it lah she just has to be good in having sex. #bullshit

Indirectly, "disobedient wives are the cause for upheaval in this world" because men are not happy at
home and their minds and souls are disturbed, she said.

LOL farniee lah. Yes, yes go on and put the blame on women.

"When husbands come home, wives do not welcome their husbands with warm alluring smiles and
sexy dressing ... That is the reality today," she said.

What reality? This is democracy and justice okay! Why should wives dress in bras and panties to wait for their husband's return? Wives today work their butt off to earn some money WHILE they take care of their kids and handle everything at home! Talk about superwoman! Somemore want to turn them into a Victoria's Secret model? #bullshit

I agree with the "warm alluring smiles" part though. I mean, yeah. From the husband AND the wife.

I think there are more important issues going on to worry about rather than spend time on this kind of bullshit. Heck I don't even know why I've spent one hour of my life blogging this post because there are more things in life than this.
