College Woes.

No, actually I'm gonna talk about programmes and stuff that various colleges offer. So I've completed my SPM and I have no friggin' idea what to do next. Is this frustrating or what? I blame the vast array of options available in the market. Heck, education shouldn't even be marketed and sold. Everything is becoming so commercial these days.

Everyone knows I've already registered for KDU. But after today.. I'm having second thoughts all over again. I'll tell you why. Everything started like this:

1. IB Diploma.
I got interested in this course when I went to the Australian Uni Education fair thingy held in E&O earlier this year. This guy I sat with.. For got his name. He was actually trying to sell me Kilmore International School in the state of Victoria, if I'm not mistaken. And then he told me the fees, which roughly adds up to RM 150k a year. WHOA. K, so Kilmore is out of the story. But then I got interested in the IB Diploma programme, so I went to research about the programme and then I found out that Uplands in Penang also offers the programme though the results aren't that fantastic and I think they offer less subjects? Anyway, all in all, I gave up going for the interview for the scholarship in Uplands because I thought the programme was too tough for me, I was lazy to study for the entrance exam and I'm afraid of mixing with the wrong company.

2. No IB then A-levels lo.
Went to KDU to register for A-levels. I chose A-levels because it's not tied down to one uni or course when I enter because I wasn't sure where to go and what I want to take for my degree. BUT THEN.. BUT THEN..

3. I went to Singapore and found out about JCs and Polytechnics.
And the best part was, after doing a lil' bit of research back at home, I found out that Singapore Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Ngee Aun Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic offer Diploma in Biomedical Science. I SEE THE LIGHT. And the best part was, if I take the bond which may tie me down in Sg after studying there for 3 years, the tuition fees are quite affordably cheap. Then I can choose to pursue my degree there or opt to work there after getting my degree outside of Singapore (?).

(?) No prove yet, need to email MOE to enquire.

4. MUFY or foundation.
This is probably out la. Though there is a reason to why it is here in this list. It's because only then did I know how hard it is to enter top unis using A-levels as compared to doing the foundation of that particualar uni. For exp, for what I've found out today, you have to get 12 points in A-levels* to enter into Biomedical Science in Monash whereas if I take the MUFY, I only have to bloody score 40 for every subject.
*Note: A-5 points, B-4, C-3, D-2, E-1.

5. AUP.
So Leelee registered for AUP in Inti. Quite tempting actually. I like America. From the outside. Haven't been there though. The flight sounds scary, the culture seems a bit.. different, I mean, really different. The study methods are also very research based, which I will like, but mummy says it's too far and *coughs* what if something happens to be or what if .. I fall sick. SEE. Always this excuse. But I understand where that comes from. Though it seems like quite a good pathway which is cheaper than Australia and shorter in terms of duration. And it's a sure route to get into one of the 300+ American unis unless you do exceptionally badly.

6. F6.
Everything in Malay. Mai.

So yeah. Blurted everything out here. I still don't know. I don't want to go for A-levels now after knowing how hard it is to apply into uni using A-levels compared to other types of pre-u. Diploma in Sg looks quite promising though. IDK LA.

New Year ... WHAT?

Resolutions.

For the year 2012.
Things to do/achieve/complete before I die on 21/12/2012.

1. Valor. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN. I'm probably as brave as a mouse if you compare me to a doorknob. I want to be braver. Try new things. I want to posses the courage to explore, test boundaries (as if I don't now), step out of my comfort zone. I don't want to be restricted. I want to run free. Exp 2. I'm a mouse.

2. When I commit to something, FOCUS. I'm so afraid of getting sidetracked. When and IF I commit to a certain course, don't get caught up in unecessary things like FEELINGS and SOCIAL LIFE and etc. DIE. College, ILY. Though I'm still keeping my options open. (:

3. Live, laugh, love. Be nice. Cook something for unfriendly neighbour (learn how to cook more types of food) once in a while and ask kakak when her birthday is. I just became an organ donor this year so that's -1 good thing I can do next year.

4. Be mindful and always have good intentions. This will probably be the hardest of all to stick to.

5. VOLUNTEER. This should be in no.1. Been talking about it for such a long time but my butt is still here.

6. Work HARD towards my goals & ambitions since I've already found out what I wanted. Not going to tell. :P I shall not let anything else come in my way for that matter.

7. Please my body. LOL. WTF. No la. -.- Detoxify it. Recover. Build stronger & healthier bones + muscles. Pray for cure. Eat healthier. ELIMINATE TOXIC FOODS FROM DIET. Stick to current diet. Have more self control. Eat less chocolates and fatty food. Smile. Goal: no more steroids by end of the year. YUSSS. EXERCISE.

BRING ON 2012!

Cylons loves.

I love rollercoasters. Period.

My Hectic Life After SPM.

But I'm NOT complaining :D

OK so updates!

1. I went to Genting with half of my class! The day after SPM ended. So it's practically like jumping onto a bus right after we passed up our paper. Grr. *coughs*

Me, Yapu, Jian.
Taken by Jian and that's me on the bottom left. We had fun taking lotsa pictures of people sleeping. Though cannot share it here for fear that people might sue me. -.-

Ya Ting and Jian.
Didn't take much pictures though SOME people enjoyed it more than the others on kiddo rides :D

2. Then I went to E&O for a buffet dinner with my school's Graduation Magazine Committee!

Me, Jian, Yapu.

Me, Jian, Yapu with Wern Teng on the top!

She LURVES the chocolate fountain. -.- Can actually stick her tongue out beside the fountain and drink liao.
I think she did this to 6 plates?!

YS did this for me. :D
They're grapes! Cuz mummy didn't allow me to eat marshmallow. I KNOW what I'm missing out on!

Me, Jian.

I liked the grapes so I had 2nd helping hehe.

Wern Teng, Yapu, KL, YS, me, Jian.

Xinyi, Me.

3. So afterthat leh hor, erm. Rest one day liao I travelled to KL. :D The whole point of the trip is actually to attend the IMU Student Exploratory Workshop and the Clinical Skills Workshop and to shop. Chortles.

I went with Jie Ying though we weren't in the same group. So being a failed, unsociable introvert.. meh : /

That's a super hyper to-be doctor giving us a warm welcome. LOL.

We did DNA extraction from fruits.

This was supposed to be in the field of Biomedical Science, which I'm quite interested in!

Steps.

Precipitated algae! We had loads of fun with algae.

And I snapped my finger while playing with the hotel door. -.-
It actually looks like that now:

Which is more gerli than the first picture.
I'LL NEVER EVER PLAY WITH A DOOR AGAIN.

Ladan, some girl whom I've forgotten her name (sorry), Pei Ying and I in the chiropractic centre.

Dried seahorses in the Chinese Medicine dept!

Learning how to give CPR in case someone collapses in the room. Have to push 100 times per min to revive the person. So chigek. Like real one. Somemore the nurses so gan jiong, like real scene aneh.

Learning to make plaster models of dentition. That's a vibrator. *coughs* To clear out air bubbles. (:

Mine! Not my teeth though. Wish my teeth were flawless like these.

And then I got an early Christmas present from mummy and papa! I can now return Kor Kor's books to her. -.-

We learned how to read chest X-rays.
The one on the left has pneumonia and the one on the right has cancer?!
Dr. Subra was awsm. Thumbs up for his knowledge on medicine.

ECG too! Though I still don't quite get it, really.

Skin suturing! Which was hard but enjoyable. Like doing knit work.

How to take blood pressure manually.

And how to give intramuscular injection.

All in all it was quite fun. I learned quite a lot. (Wait, is this what people are supposed to say when they come out from a workshop?) Mummy says we are paying them to do advertisement. To show the public the programmes they offer and how good the facilities are in IMU. *coughs* but it was worth it la! I'm quite interested in Biomedical Science, TBH. Sitting in the lab, looking at blood, urine and stools all day long. Fun innit? Haha. OH! And the highlight was, we get to see a dead body in the medical museum. They call it a cadaver. She's from Russia and her name was.. Oh I forgot. Nevermind. I smell formalin.

And on the last day in KL I went out with Chee Ching! She was awsm!

Went to watch New Year's Eve! It's like Valentine's Day and I <3 it too!
K, lately I've been <3ing movies a lot. Maybe because I haven't been watching movies for a long time. I didn't even know New Year's Eve exist before I went to the cinema. -.- Imma frog. CROAKS.

OK BAI. GTG. cuz i haven't packed yet for tomorrow and mummy is going to shout at me and i'm going to wl's house for sleepover so i wont miss my plane tmr morning so kthxbai i see u when i get back and more pictures then okbai.

Let's Have A Book Burning Ceremony!

So lately I've started cooking healthy food to stay alive. LOL. And the recent dish I've learnt is...

Tadaa! Tomato soup! I know the end product looks gross. But it's actually quite nice! Made out of whole veggies and home grown herbs from my garden! (:

I actually skipped a lot of steps in that picture. Hehe. You have to cut, chop, fry, boil, blend and then boil again. Now the problem is I don't know how to make tomato soup right out of a can. Hehe. Up level liao right?

Yesterday, I started packing all my f4 and f5 books into one corner ready to be given out to anyone. LOL. Any takers? I think not. :X So yeah, don't be fooled by how high the pile is. The only books I usually use are at the bottom of the pile. LOL. And more than half of them is given by mom's friend's beautiful daughter. So to prove that I'm not so kut lat.

Tore these useless sticky notes out from bio textbook because I'm gonna return them soon. Sigh. Reminiscing how motivated I was at the beginning of the year. What happened? *shakes head

SEE SEE SEE and I found this LOL. Everything to the recycle bin!

Except these two papers which will be folded and kept inside my purse to be carried with me wherever I go. No la I 不忍心 fold them also. Can laminate them, punch two holes and carry them as tags ma? Sheesh.

Oh yeah, I watched 那些年 on YouTube and I LOVED ITTTTT.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be the last time we are ever going to wear our school uniforms again.

We are stepping into another phase of life.
